About Us

RLD Consulting NQ is operated by Rob Drummond, Clinical Psychologist. Rob has been registered as a Psychologist for over 10 years and has a special interest in providing services to first responders and their families, including Australian Defence Force (ADF) members, Queensland Police Service (QPS), Volunteer Marine Rescue, State Emergency Service (SES) and Queensland Fire Department. Rob is endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA). Rob has trained in a variety of therapy models, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Schema Therapy. Rob has completed a Bachelor of Psychology, Master of Public Health (Health Promotion), Master of Psychology (Clinical) and a Graduate Certificate in Sexual and Violent Offender Assessment and Treatment. 

Our Services

RLD Consulting NQ offers Clinical Psychology services to assess and treat a range of presenting concerns, including:

Rob is a Board-Approved (AHPRA) Supervisor and is able to provide clinical supervision services for provisional psychologists, registrars, placement students and registered / qualified professionals. 

Referral Pathways

In order to book an appointment please read the below in order to determine the most appropriate referral pathway. Please note - Private Billing and Medicare referrals will incur a fee. No gap fees are charged for third-party referrals. 

  • Private Billing - no referral is required, however out-of-pocket costs apply of $185 per session. An invoice is issued that you may be able to use to seek a rebate from your health insurance provided.
  • Medicare - a referral (Mental Health Care Plan) from a GP is required to access a Medicare rebate. A gap fee of $45 applies. 
  • Current-serving ADF members - approach your Medical Officer or MHPS and ask for a named referral through BUPA ADF (preferred) or Open Arms. You can also self-refer through Open Arms by calling 1800 011 046 and completing a brief intake assessment.
  • Former-serving ADF members - self-referral through Open Arms (1800 011 046) or direct referral from your GP to RLD Consulting NQ using your DVA white/gold veteran's card.
  • Queensland Police Service (QPS), Marine Rescue, State Emergency Service (SES) and Queensland Fire - self-referral using the Self Refer system or direct contact with RLD Consulting NQ. Some work and personal details will be required to generate the referral.
  • Workcover / MAIC - a referral from your GP to RLD Consulting NQ will be required.
  • Psychometric Assessments - please make contact to discuss needs and pricing.
